Although pyrocarbon implants offer many advantages over polyethylene and metal implants, pyrocarbon is a delicate material and requires special care and handling:

		Do not scratch the pyrocarbon surface of the implant
		Do not handle pyrocarbon implants with metal instruments
		Do not cut pyrocarbon implants with saws or burrs
